Games like Apex Legends and Stars Wars Battlefront 2 are currently being affected by a multiplayer outage.
This latest problem is not stopping gamers from logging and playing their game collection online, but it is making it impossible to use Origin Chat and Friends list options.
The issues have been ongoing for hours and it’s unclear what is causing the outage.
One affected user writes: “I have the same issue tried all the steps, even tried clearing my registry (Didn’t work…) and all this 1 day before the New Apex mode.”
Another adds: “I spoke to the online chat guys and they are busy working on the issue they know about the problem.. all that after clearing cache and reinstalling and all that stuff.. what a waste of my time.”
The latest update from EA support confirms the problems have been found and are being looked at.
“We’re aware the friend list in Origin is down,” the latest message from the EA Help support team explains.
“As of now, the game team is looking into it to see if we can get this fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!”
The good news is that this doesn’t look to be a widespread issue that is causing games like Apex Legends to stop working entirely.
But as many gamers will be looking to use core multiplayer services, being unable to chat is a major problem.
If the Origin issues persist, you can expect further updates from EA on the subject.
