Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the April Community Day event.
Originally scheduled for March, the latest Pokemon Community Day event was delayed after the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Abra Community Day event finally takes place on April 25, starting at 11am local time. Unlike traditional Community Day events, the Abra celebration will run for six hours.
In a bid to make it easier to play remotely, Niantic has made a few tweaks and changes to the standard Community Day formula.
“We’ve made some temporary changes to Community Day to make it easier for you to participate from anywhere you play, including at home,” Niantic explains.
“We’d like to introduce you to Community Day: Play at Home Edition.”
New features include triple Catch Stardust, 6-hour Lure Modules and Incense, plus bonus items from Buddy Pokemon.
“Buddy Pokemon with a Buddy Level of Great Buddy or higher will bring you helpful items, such as Poke Balls, throughout the event.
“To take full advantage of this bonus, check out this help center article to learn how to get to Great Buddy with your buddy.”
“There’ll be a special one-time purchase April Community Day bundle, featuring an Elite Charged TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Super Incubators, and three Incense for 1,280 PokeCoins.”
As with all Community Day events, Abra will appear more frequently and you might even encounter a Shiny variant.
“Evolve Abra during the event or up to two hours afterward to obtain an Alakazam that knows an exclusive attack.
“We’d like to announce here that that exclusive attack will be the Fighting-type Fast Attack Counter!”
Elsewhere, fans can pay to unlock a a Community Day Special Research story called Investigating Illusions.
Fans who complete it will receive 13,000 Stardust, a Poffin, a Rocket Radar, and other rewards.
“Don’t miss out on participating in Abra Community Day’s Special Research! If you want a ticket, buy it before Community Day ends,” Niantic warns.
The Pokemon Go developer is also encouraging fans to share their Community Day pictures on social media.
Likewise, the company is running 24-hour coverage during the Community Day event.
