Pokemon Go Legendary Lunch Hour: New Niantic event launches later TODAY

Pokemon Go fans are counting down to a brand new in-game event.

The first Pokemon Go Legendary Lunch Hour event goes live at 12pm local time on March 13. That’s 12pm GMT if you live in the UK and 12pm PDT/EDT if you live in the US.

As part of the one hour event, Niantic will increase the number of raids taking place around the world.

If it proves to be a success, Niantic plans to hold a Legendary Lunch Hour event every week.

“To give you more ways to enjoy Pokemon GO, we’re trying out a new event called Legendary Lunch Hour!” Niantic explains.

“From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in your local time zone, there will be an increased number of raids to test your battle skills alongside your friends, coworkers, and classmates.

“The first Legendary Lunch Hour will take place on March 13, and with your help, we hope to make this an event you can enjoy every week!”

With Legendary Raids proving difficult without a large group of people, these Legendary Lunch Hour events could be hugely beneficial for fans looking to power up their Pokedex.

To make the most out of the event, Pokemon Go fans can pick up extra Raid Passes from the in-game store.

The Special Box – which costs 480 Coins – contains four Premium Raid Passes, as well as Star Pieces and an Egg Incubator.

Available for 780 Coins, the Great Box contains six Premium Raid Passes, as well as two Super Incubators, four Star Pieces and three Lucky Eggs.

The Ultra Box is the biggest and best value of the bunch, containing 15 Premium Raid Passes, six Super Incubators, seven lots of Incense and eight Star Pieces.

The next big Pokemon Go event after Legendary Lunch Hour will be the March Community Day.

The upcoming Community Day puts the spotlight on Treecko, which is great news if you don’t have a Sceptile.

Taking place between 10am and 1pm on March 23, the event will give players the chance to learn an exclusive special move for their Pokemon.

As with all Community Day events, lures will last for the full three hours, while egg hatching distances will be greatly reduced.
