Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC release date latest – Isle of Armor reveal for June

Nintendo may have announced its Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC plans months ago but it’s been a long time since we were given an update.

And with the Isle or Armor slated for release later this month, it appears we’re going to be getting a big reveal very soon.

For now, we only know that the first part of the new Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC has a release date scheduled for the end of June.

But with a new event planned, it looks like we’ll be getting some solid release date news from the Pokemon team.

According to the latest news on the subject, the Pokemon Company will be revealing big regarding the new Pokemon DLC on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

It doesn’t appear that there will be a live stream but there is still a good chance of a new trailer.

It also wouldn’t be surprising to learn more about the final Sword and Shield release date for the Isle of Armor expansion.

The new Pokemon Sword and Shield news is expected to be shared by 9am ET on June 2, or 2pm GMT if live in the UK.

Fans will be hoping that there is no release date delay announced but it’s unclear how affected Nintendo’s launch scheduled has been affected by world events.

The new Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC is split into two parts, the first being the Isle of Armor.

This will bring new Pokemon to the game, as well as a new area to explore and cosmetic items to collect.

A short description of the new expansion can be found below, courtesy of Nintendo:

In The Isle of Armor expansion, you’ll head to The Isle of Armor, the stage of your new adventure in the Galar region. The Isle of Armor is a giant island full of environments not seen in Galar before—you’ll find wave-swept beaches, forests, bogs, caves, and sand dunes!

There are also plenty of Pokémon that make this island their home, living freely amid the lush natural surroundings.

There’s even a dojo here that specializes in some very particular training styles! You and your Pokémon will take up an apprenticeship under the master of this dojo and train hard to become even stronger.

The Pokemon Company has also announced its plans for the Ranked Battles June Season.

Gamers can join now and enjoy head-to-head battles with players around the world, with the key being to move up the leaderboards and earn in-game rewards.

Only Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield (either caught, hatched from Eggs, or received as an official Mystery Gift) are eligible for this competition, excluding Legendary or Mythical Pokémon.

You can also use the following Pokémon, provided you hatched them from an Egg in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise, Slowpoke (Galarian Form), Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye, Litten, Torracat, Incineroar, Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina.

If you’re looking to add some Gigantamax power, be aware that the following are the only Pokémon you can have Gigantamax versions of on your team: Charizard, Butterfree, Pikachu, Meowth, Machamp, Gengar, Kingler, Lapras, Eevee, Snorlax, Garbodor, Corviknight, Orbeetle, Drednaw, Coalossal, Flapple, Appletun, Sandaconda, Toxtricity, Centiskorch, Hatterene, Grimmsnarl, Alcremie, Copperajah, and Duraludon.
