The new photo was taken by proud wife and mum Kate, as she showed off her photography skills once again, to mark both Father’s Day and the Duke of Cambridge’s 38th birthday. The picture, posted on their Kensington Royal Instagram page, was captioned with: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new picture of The Duke with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ahead of The Duke’s birthday tomorrow. The picture was taken earlier this month by The Duchess.”
Another image posted shows William sitting on a swing, with Louis on his lap.
Charlotte is standing next to them, while George is stood behind.
The fact this image has been chosen for Father’s Day is significant.
The swing is believed to be a wedding present from William’s father Charles, Prince of Wales.
Yet another said: “What an absolutely lovely photo!”
Another described the image as: “So awesome”
Though turning 38 tomorrow, William is not the eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
That status goes to Peter Phillips, born in November 1977.
Peter is the oldest child of Anne, Princess Royal and her first husband Mark Phillips.
Anne and Mark’s second child Zara Tindall is also slightly older than William, having been born in May 1981.
William has been second in the line of succession to the throne since he was born.
George as his eldest son child has been third since he was born.
Charlotte and Louis are currently fourth and fifth.
