The PlayStation Plus April 2020 free PS4 games reveal won’t be happening anytime soon.
Due to the ways the dates fall, the next batch of PS Plus free games won’t be revealed until April 1.
Unless there’s a surprise State of Play event, the games will be unveiled at 4.30pm on this date.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will have to wait just under a week for the games to be available to download on April 7.
The only positive to come out of the PS Plus delay is that subscribers have additional time to download the current batch of free PS4 games.
This includes the excellent Shadow of the Colossus remake, not to mention the divisive Sonic Forces.
“One of the most highly acclaimed and beloved video games of all time, Shadow of the Colossus has been reborn for a new generation on PlayStation 4,” reads the official description.
“With improved visuals, enhanced performance and optional updated controls – the iconic PS2 adventure has been given a staggering makeover, and is now more breathtaking than ever before.”
The new and improved visuals and control scheme – combined with an already excellent story and game world – helped Shadow of the Colossus earn a Metacritic score of 91%.
Sonic Forces doesn’t fare quite so well on Metacritic, earning an average score of just 57%.
The game features a mix of 2D and 3D platforming levels, similar to Sonic Generations. It’s let down by levels where you have to take control of a custom character.
Despite its flaws, it’s a big improvement on the truly terrible Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, which launched for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2014.
