Queen drummer Roger Taylor celebrates John Deacon’s 69th birthday in TOUCHING way

John Deacon was a member of Queen for over 25 years before his retirement in the mid-nineties. Since then he’s been living a quiet private life in London with his family. Nevertheless, the Queen bassist is far from forgotten, as drummer Roger Taylor celebrates his former bandmate’s 69th birthday today.

The 71-year-old wrote on Instagram: “Happy Birthday John!”

Taylor included a throwback behind-the-scenes photo of the pair together.

Deacon is seen reading a copy of Rock Show magazine while the drummer smokes a cigarette in a pair of sunglasses.

Earlier this summer, Express.co.uk asked Taylor if he stays in touch with Deacon.

While it turns out Taylor hasn’t seen Deacon for around 16 years.

The 71-year-old said: “I last saw John, I think… We Will Rock You had opened six months before.

“I saw him there one night, in the bar, he strolled in.

“And that’s the last time I saw him. Probably 2004.”

But has Deacon seen the Bohemian Rhapsody movie?

After all, he didn’t attend the world premiere in London with May and Taylor.

The drummer added: “I wonder, I mean I wouldn’t put it past him not to have seen it.

“I just don’t know. We’re all different aren’t we?”
