The Resident Evil 3 Remake Demo has launched and it’s just the first part of Capcom’s launch plans for their new game. Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in April, the new RE3 Remake is set to offer more than just a reimagined storyline, involving Nemesis as your… Nemesis. The first part of launching this new game includes bringing the new RE3 Demo to all platforms as a free download.
But while that will be a big part of the new RE3 experience, Capcom is also launching a new multiplayer experience.
And the good news is that a Resident Evil Resistance beta is also being launched as part of the second stage of the RE3 rollout.
Gamers can download this now alongside the Resident Evil 3 demo, the downside being that Resistance is not available yet to play.
The open Beta for Resident Evil Resistance has a release date set for March 27, on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
Capcom has confirmed that this new beta will allow Resi fans to get an early taste of the new 1 vs 4 online multiplayer mode set in the Resident Evil universe.
This will include four Survivors facing off against a sinister Mastermind. As the Mastermind, the gamer will need to prevent the Survivors from escaping by whatever means necessary.
Meanwhile, the Survivors must work together to fend off the Mastermind’s attacks and complete the objectives to escape the map before the timer runs out.
A message from Capcom adds: “That’s not all that we have though; an Open Beta for Resident Evil Resistance will be kicking off on March 27th, providing everyone with a chance to try out this asymmetrical co-op horror game set in the Resident Evil universe.
“Take on the role of a Survivor as part of a team of four trying to escape from a twisted experiment designed to push them to their limits.
“If you’re feeling sinister, take control as a Mastermind, watching the Survivors progress through cameras as you attempt to thwart their escape by placing traps and creatures while manipulating the environment to your advantage.”
The full details of the new Resident Evil Resistance beta schedule has not been confirmed yet but it looks set to kick off early on March 27.
The Resident Evil Resistance open beta client is available to download now but trying to use it will just bounce back a message of it not being available yet.
Anyone interested in putting the new Resident Evil multiplayer mode through its paces will need around 10GB of space on their chosen platform.
They will also need to double-check if a PS Plus subscription will be needed on PS4, as will be the case on Xbox One with Xbox Live Gold.
More news regarding the open beta for RE3 Resistance is expected to be shared by Capcom in the coming days.
