Rylan Clark-Neal storms off This Morning after Ruth and Eamonn dig: ‘Not having it!’

Rylan, 31, joined his This Morning co-stars on the show today to discuss the nominations for the first-ever virtual BAFTA TV ceremony taking place later this year. Ruth Langsford, 60, and Eamonn Holmes, 60, were pleased to be reunited with their colleague, albeit via video link as they all continue to adhere to social distancing rules. The trio went through some of the top nods on the list, including moments from the likes of Gavin and Stacey and Coronation Street. However, when the husband and wife brought up their co-star’s past on The X Factor, it seemed the presenter stormed off camera.

The moment in question was when Rylan appeared on the hit ITV reality show in 2012, where he was a part of the boy’s category.

Mentored by judge and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, 41, the television personality made it through to the lives shows and catapulted to stardom.

Although he didn’t win the season, his reaction to getting through to the live finals became viral and is still circulated on social media today.

Believing it apt to take a trip down memory lane, Ruth and Eamonn decided they could replay the clip for those who might not have seen it.

As a result, the former contestant left his chair and jointly stormed off as he could be heard saying: “Not having it.”

After making the cheeky dig that a clip from his past should be one of the funniest moments in television history, the presenter asked Ruth and Eamonn: “Which one?”

The video then played of him, breaking down in tears as Nicole told him he would be going through to the live shows.

On return to the live feed from This Morning, Rylan was missing from the shot as it appeared he had stormed off in a rage.

However, his co-stars were sat laughing as they knew it was all in jest, with the Loose Women star saying: “Oh, he’s gone.”

Returning to the shot with a big grin on his face, the presenter said: “Nah, not having it. I’m not having it.” [sic].

“Every single time,” he continued as Ruth told him: “We couldn’t let this go,” as she explained showing the clip.

“If that hadn’t have happened, son, none of the rest which followed would have happened,” Eamonn told his co-star.

“You should never be embarrassed about that,” he added, to which Rylan replied: “No, I’m not embarrassed.”

“I make sure I watch that once year whenever I sit there and moan about early starts and that and go, ‘This is what it means to you’.

“Weirdly, whenever I sit there and say that to myself, I hear it in your voice going, ‘Son, this is what it means to you’,” Rylan said in an Irish accent.

Taking to Twitter, those watching at home remembered the moment and expressed their reaction at the presenter crying.

One wrote on the social media platform: “Watching Rylan crying on Nicole Scherzinger’s sofa still sends me all these years later #ThisMorning.”

Another added: “How much has Rylan changed #thismorning,” whilst a third commented: “I love @Rylan #ThisMorning.”

This won’t be the only appearance for the This Morning trio on television today, as they are all taking part in a new season of Celebrity Gogglebox on Channel 4.

The second season of the all-star spin-off kicks off tonight at 9pm and will see Eamonn and Ruth reviewing this week’s television from their home.

Rylan will be joined by his mother Linda, as a whole host of other famous personalities also sit down to give their take on the small screen.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
