The princess was set to marry her fiancee later this month on the Greek island of Spetses. The couple announced the postponement of the ceremony in a statement released at the weekend.
Theodora, who was born in London and now lives in Los Angeles, is the daughter of the former King of Greece, Constantine II, and his wife, Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark.
She met her future husband after she moved to the US to become an actress.
The Greek Royal House officially announced the royal couple’s engagement in November 2018.
Her parents said they are “delighted” by the news.
At the time, the Greek royal family released a statement that read: “Their Majesties King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie are delighted to announce the engagement of their youngest daughter Theodora to Mr. Matthew Kumar.”
They noted that details about the forthcoming wedding would be “provided in due course.”
“Words can’t express our happiness and excitement,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I can’t wait to marry this wonderful man. I love you Matt.”
Prince Nikolaos, Theodora’s 50-year-old brother, wrote: “I’m so unbelievably happy for you and wish you both a life of eternal happiness.”
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter got engaged in Italy in September 2019.
Their wedding was also originally set to take place this month at the 150-seat Chapel Royal.
The couple announced the venue in February, and revealed that it would be followed by an event in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, at the invitation of the Queen.
Edoardo’s three-year-old son Christopher (affectionately known as Woolfie), from his previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang, was expected to be best man.
It was reported that Prince William an dKate Middleton’s eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, would play an important part in the royal wedding.
Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi are due to reschedule the ceremony for a later date.
James Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s brother, has also miss out on celebrating his wedding this summer to Alizée Thimothet.
The Greek royal family have a close link to the Cambridges through Constantine, a second cousin of Prince Charles and Prince William’s godfather.
