The Grand Tour’s James May shares exciting news about new Amazon series

Just one episode of The Grand Tour’s fourth season has been released so far, which featured the ex-Top Gear trio taking on the Mekong Delta in Seamen.

Their next adventure will see James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond take on the rainforests of Madagascar, hopefully released sometime in 2020.

In the meantime, travel and cookery enthusiast James May is confirmed to be fronting another series for Amazon Prime Video.

Originally reported by The Sun, May has apparently been keen to produce and host his own cooking series for a while.

Now, media news outlet Deadline have confirmed the Grand Tour star will present a new cookery programme for Amazon with the working title James May ‘Oh Cook!‘

Produced by Plum Pictures, the new series will allow the TV presenter to get experimental in the kitchen after testing the waters during appearances on the FoodTribe podcast on YouTube.

May has also appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word attempting to make a fish pie after a few too many drinks.

The new series; potential title is a riff on May’s expletive catchphrase ‘oh c***!’ when he makes a mistake on the new motoring show.

Unfortunately, the follow-up series, as well as The Grand Tour’s trip to Russia, was cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Filming for one of The Grand Tour’s four new specials was set to begin in March.

However, plans were scrapped when the UK’s lockdown restrictions prevented James, Jeremy and Richard travelling overseas with their extensive film crew.

During a YouTube chat with co-host Jeremy Clarkson, series producer Andy Wilman confirmed their next trip will set off in 2021.

He explained: “We had to call it. It was the right move, thank Christ, but now we’ve got to wait for the snow again and we’ll go next year.”

Wilman’s comments have fuelled speculation about the trio’s next challenge, which could see The Grand Tour presenters take on Russia’s extreme winter weather.

The producer has also confirmed the show’s trip to Madagascar has been edited and delivered to Amazon, with fans hoping The Grand Tour will continue in 2020.

The Grand Tour seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
