Earlier this year, Midnight Mass hooked Netflix viewers with its thrilling plot. The series, which follows the arrival of a quirky priest and mysterious occurrences in a dying American fishing town, is the latest TV production from director Mike Flanagan. The popular horror director is well known for previous TV projects The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, as well as his films Hush and Doctor Sleep. Chatting about the success of Midnight Mass, one of its stars Michael Trucco has teased he could soon be working again with the famous director.
In Midnight Mass, Michael starred as Crockett Island’s mayor Wade Scarborough.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the actor opened up about his time working on the hit series.
When asked if he’d like to work with director Mike again, the star revealed there’s already been some talk about collaborating on a new project.
“There is talk, for sure,” Michael confessed.
The actor highlighted how Midnight Mass director Mike is well known for using the same cast members in new projects.
“The thing about being in the Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy Repertory Theatre Company is that they do love to bring people back and you never know in what capacity,” Michael explained.
He added: “It reminds me of my old feeder days of Repertory Theatre where for the next few months you are gonna be playing this role in this play, but then the next play, you’re gonna be playing this part and then you get to this part.
“So, I can only hope that I’m in that club. I feel like I’m in that club and am honoured to be in that club.
He said: “We know what Mike Flanagan is capable of and Michael Fimognari our director of photography and Trevor Macy, who was his producing partner I mean, they’re just and the team up and down, it’s just quality class act production.”
The actor also confirmed he’s already filmed something new with Mike, which fans will likely be able to watch next year.
“I was fortunate to do an episode in his next project, which is called Midnight Club,” Michael revealed.
However, he was quick to clarify that the upcoming series has nothing to do with Midnight Mass, despite the similar titles.
