Speaking to Express.co.uk, experts at TyrePros said: “There are strict rules in the UK when it comes to displaying number plates on vehicles.
“This is to ensure that registrations are eligible to police officers at all times and can be seen by automatic number plate recognition cameras. Failing to follow these regulations can lead to a £1,000 fine and an MOT failure.
“Making sure you’re up to speed on the rules surrounding number plates can save you from a potentially costly fine, and ensure you don’t fail your MOT on this simple point.”
Number plate colour
New research from motorting experts Tyre Pros has revealed 30 percent of road users were not aware modifying the colour on a number plate can result in fine.
Number plates on the front of a vehicle must be white with black lettering while at the rear of the car plates must be yellow with black lettering.
