Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd set to make surprise Chelsea raid, Arsenal talks, Liverpool

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on Brentford’s Said Benrahma but Leicester City are leading the race for his signature.

Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers is looking for a goalscoring wide man to bolster his attack next season, and Algerian Benrahma is top of his list.

But Rodgers faces fierce competition from Chelsea, who have also asked Brentford about Benrahma’s situation, and Arsenal.

The Championship club want £25m for Benrahma, who they signed for £1.5m from Nice two years ago.

The Algerian international striker has since scored 21 goals in 72 Championship appearances for the Bees.

Man Utd eye Chelsea raid

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering making a surprise move for out-of-contract Chelsea star Willian.

The Norwegian is drawing up a list of alternatives to £100m winger Jadon Sancho and France Football claim Chelsea’s Willian is under consideration.

The Brazilian is out on contract at the end of the month and his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge is expected to come to an end.

Talks over an extension have stalled as the 31-year-old wants a deal longer than the 12 months which was apparently offered.

Arsenal talks

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to sit down with Ainsley Maitland-Niles next week and discuss his role in the Gunners’ first-team squad and his long-term future at the club.

The Daily Mirror claim Arteta sees Maitland-Niles as a box-to-box midfielder from now on.

Maitland-Niles played in central midfield in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Charlton earlier this month.

Though he impressed at right-back in Arteta’s early days and has also spent time at right wing-back.

Erling Haaland to Leeds?

Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland almost completed a move to Manchester United in January but ex-Leeds midfielder Chris Kamara thinks the 20-year-old could be pushed towards a switch to Elland Road over Old Trafford by his dad Alf-Inge.

“I am gutted that Alfie’s lad wasn’t signed by a Premier League club because he would have been a snip, an absolute snip for anybody,” Kamara told Express Sport.

“Alf must have been knocking on the door of one or two. I know it may have been a little below him but what a signing he would have been for Leeds for their final run-in.

“I am sure his dad loves the club and would want him to follow in those footsteps but he might go beyond that now with the quality he has shown.

“Leeds are going to take a while to win the Premier League and he is going to want to be at a club where he is guaranteed medals and his goalscoring art deserves.

“I don’t really know the lad, I only know from listening to him that he seems a very level-headed lad, he doesn’t give too many secrets away.”
