UK weather forecast: Britain braced for hottest Spring Bank Holiday in 98 years

The Met Office has predicted that temperatures will soar to 25C, potentially making it the hottest bank holiday in 98 years. Sun-worshippers will no doubt rejoice at the news, as they are able to soak up the sunshine in local parks and gardens.
A spokesperson said: “Brits can look forward to sizzling temperatures over the next few days, and with things only getting hotter we’re strapping ourselves in for a record-breaking year on the weather front.”
They have said it will be a 2/1 chance of being the warmest Spring Bank Holiday on record.
Met Office forecaster Alex Deakin said: “All the computer models are in strong agreement that high pressure will sit around for most of next week, certainly bringing most of the south and central Britain fine and sunny weather.”

Members of the public were seen clutching takeaway beers as they piled on to Brighton beach.
Many have feared that increasingly large gatherings in public places could increase the chance of a second coronavirus wave.
The Met Office wrote on Twitter: “After today’s warmth we will see something colder and windier, with rain for some, over the next few days.”
“However, temperatures will increase day on day over the Bank Holiday Weekend.”
