Valorant beta release date: Here’s when the Valorant closed beta starts on PC

FPS fans waiting to test out Riot Games’ latest title won’t be hanging around much longer for the Valorant closed beta release date. The dev team behind the highly anticipated new launch confirmed today that wider testing will begin in April. But as the name suggests, the closed beta for Valorant will mean that not everyone will be able to join in on the action.
And there is certainly going to be a lot of interest in trying out the new first-person shooter that will soon be taking on the likes of Overwatch and CS: GO.
WHEN IS THE VALORANT CLOSED BETA RELEASE DATE?
Riot Games has announced that the Valorant closed beta release date has been set for April 7, 2020.
And that means things will be kicking off for some PC gamers next week, sticking to Riot’s 2020 rollout plans.
The development team has confirmed that the Closed Beta will be limited to players in Europe, Canada, Russia, Turkey, and the United States.
However, there is the possibility of a later roll out to more regions, pending developments with the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest news is that Riot Games is collaborating with Twitch to entitle fans with Valorant Closed Beta access.
No set end date has been announced for the closed beta in April, although Riot Games has stated that they want to keep it as short as possible.
The timeline will ultimately be decided by how much feedback is shared by fans and how much of the game will need to be revamped.
Commenting on the limited scope of the new Valorant closed beta, Anna Donlon, Executive Producer of VALORANT at Riot Games, revealed:
“Our plan was to bring the VALORANT Closed Beta to as many players around the world as quickly as possible, but the COVID-19 pandemic hs impacted those plans, compromising a wider global rollout. For now, we have to focus on the regions where we feel most ready, with more regions following in the months to come.
“We want to engage with players as globally as possible as quickly as possible, and so we’ll ramp up our player count as much as we can to test our infrastructure, but we won’t be letting everyone playtest VALORANT until we’re absolutely sure we can handle it in this newly uncertain environment.”
More news regarding the Closed beta launch of Valorant is expected to be shared in the run-up to its launch in the first week of April 2020.
