Lauren Hammersley is once again back on screens as Charmaine Roberts in the highly anticipated third season of Virgin River. Unfortunately, the latest instalment’s premiere on Netflix coincided with the actress being forced to take action after spotting an Instagram scam.
The Virgin River star posted a warning to her followers on Sunday regarding another Instagram user claiming to be Lauren Hammersley’s official account.
The account used the username ‘officiallaurenhammersley_’, alongside a stock photo of the Canadian actress.
Hammersley posted a screenshot of the Instagram page, which had zero followers and posts at the time of posting.
She also told her fans: “Hi everyone. This is NOT ME.”
“So many fakes out there impersonating actors I just report and block,” added another.
However, viewers still have their suspicions about Hammersley’s on-screen persona, Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) ex-friend with benefits, Charmaine.
In the latest season, Charmaine has put a stop to pursuing Jack and started up a relationship with a new boyfriend and eventual husband, Todd (Patrick Sabongui).
However, complications arise when Todd tries to prevent Jack from seeing their family after Charmaine gives birth to twins, whom she maintains are Jack’s.
On Hammersley’s post, one follower joked: “But I feel like after how you did us on season 3 of Virgin River you’re up to something.”
Virgin River season three has already raised several red flags regarding Charmaine’s narcissistic new partner.
Thankfully, Jack made a swift recovery from being shot by a still unknown attacker at the end of the last season, but there are still plenty of questions left unanswered heading into season four.
Virgin River season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
