The Scottish Premiership has been somewhat of a one-horse-race in recent years, with the Hoops having dominated year after year.
This past season, they won the title by nine points ahead of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
The year before, the gap again was nine points, while the previous year they had won the title by a massive 30-point margin.
Rangers are expected to dip into the transfer market this summer, with moves reportedly planned for Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Lewis MacLeod among others.
Those additions could help Gerrard’s men to bridge the gap and stop Celtic from closing in on 10-in-a-row – a feat neither club has ever achieved.
This is the final season where Sky Sports and BT Sport will be showing live Scottish Premiership matches.
As part of the current deal, 60 games can be shown live, split equally between the two broadcasters.
When are the 2019-2020 Scottish Premiership fixtures released?
The fixtures will be released on Friday June 21 at 9am.
At the same time, the full schedule for the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two will also be announced.
Neil Doncaster, SPFL chief executive, said: “We know that the release of the fixtures is an important date in the diary for football fans across the country and we look forward to an exciting 2019/20 campaign.
“There is still plenty to play for this season, with the conclusion of the league programme and the drama and tension of the play-offs.”
What fixtures do we already know?
The quarter-final, semi-final and final dates for the Betfred Cup have already been confirmed.
The quarter-finals will be played on September 24-26, with the semi-finals on November 2-3 and the final on either December 7 or 8.
