Xbox Series X games reveal: Confirmed and leaked titles for 20/20 stream

Xbox Series X fans are in for a big week with the first ever 20/20 stream – which will reveal next-gen games heading to Microsoft’s console – is aired. On May 7 Microsoft will unveil to the world the first look at next-gen gameplay for the Xbox Series X, showcasing what fans can expect from this new wave of consoles. We’ve already seen footage of some Xbox Series X games, but this was in-engine footage of titles such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

So it will be fascinating to see just how good next-gen gameplay will end up looking, and how much of a jump it’ll be over what we’re experiencing right now.

The Xbox Series X games reveal was announced by the official Xbox Twitter last week.

On Thursday they posted: “You want to see games for the Xbox Series X? We want to show you games for the Xbox Series X.

“Check out First Look next-gen gameplay from our global developers partners within #InsideXbox on Thursday, May 7 at 8am PT.”

The stream is kicking off at 8am pacific time this Thursday, which is 4pm BST and 1pm eastern time.

And ahead of the start of it more details have been revealed, with the Xbox team announcing this broadcast will be part of a monthly series known as 20/20.

In a post online Microsoft said: “Starting with the May 7 episode of Inside Xbox, we will be showcasing what happens next in the world of Xbox, every month, which is why we’re calling it ‘Xbox 20/20’.

“These monthly moments will take place throughout the rest of the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what’s in store for the next generation of gaming, including what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud.

“Every month will bring something different.”

The blog post also outlined what fans can expect from the first instalment of the Xbox 20/20 series.

The recently announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will feature, with Ubisoft previously confirmed the first gameplay footage will debut in this broadcast.

And Microsoft added more details about the Smart Delivery feature will be revealed in this week’s Xbox 20/20 stream.

Smart Delivery is a feature which gives games purchased for the Xbox One a next-gen update for the Series X, so you don’t need to buy the game twice.

Cyberpunk 2077 has already been confirmed as a title that will use Smart Delivery, so it’s possible CD Projekt RED’s highly anticipated title could feature.

It also seems likely we could find out more about the first-party line-up for the Xbox Series X in the upcoming Xbox 20/20 stream.

In recent years Microsoft has been acquiring plenty of new studios and talent, and we may see the fruits of this labour in this major next-gen broadcast this week.

We may at last find out what Microsoft’s ‘AAAA’ studio The Initiative are working on, with a new Perfect Dark title rumoured to be in the works.

Playground Games are also rumoured to be working on a new entry in the Fable series, which last saw the light of day on the Xbox 360.

If Fable 4 gets announced for the Series X in the Xbox 20/20 then that surely would be a big highlight for Microsoft fans.

Elsewhere, Microsoft have said Halo Infinite is still planned for a holiday 2020 release – so we may see more of Master Chief’s next adventure in this week’s stream.
