Following the catastrophic events of Yellowstone’s season three finale, some eagle-eyed fans may have spotted some exciting casting news for the next instalment. Before the show makes its highly anticipated return to the Paramount Network, a brand new member of the Dutton family may have been revealed.
Audiences were shocked when surprise hit Yellowstone wrapped up its third season with a devastating attack on the Dutton family.
The episode’s final moments left John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) on the brink of death, and the fates of his children Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce (Luke Grimes) unknown.
However, rumours that Beth star Kelly Reilly has been spotted on set in Montana have fuelled speculation John’s troubled yet loyal daughter will survive into the next season.
Moreover, new reports from season four’s ongoing production have seemingly revealed the Dutton’s will welcome a new member of the family when Yellowstone returns.
Although the casting has not been confirmed, multiple clues have tipped 14-year-old Finn Little as the latest star to join the cast of season four.
Little is best known for his starring role alongside Geoffrey Rush in family drama Storm Boy, as well as appearing in Netflix drama series Tidelands.
Yellowstone’s third season confirmed Beth’s feud with her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) stemmed from his decision to have her sterilised as a teenager without her permission.
In a heartbreaking moment, Beth confided in her boyfriend and now fiancé Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) that she couldn’t have children after she received an abortion in an Indian reservation.
After witnessing firsthand the damage a hidden adoption can do, it makes sense that Beth and Rip could decide to adopt an older child and bring him up without any secrets.
However, another fan argued: “After seeing Jamie’s life play out I’m thinking she’s taking a hard pass on the whole adoption thing.”
Beth has become notorious for her unpredictable and often irrational decisions, so some fans are sincerely hoping the speculation isn’t true.
While some fans were skeptical of the rumours, the original Reddit poster reasoned Little’s casting is most likely true after spotting a number of hints on social media.
They explained: “Instagram/Facebook. He’s in Montana right now taping Yellowstone.
“He also thanked his manager for helping him, and traveled all the way from Australia to play this role, so it must be a fairly substantial one.”
Production is currently on the way, so official news, including a release date for season four, is expected to be announced before the end of the year.
Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount.
